Z2/USGPRU Motorcycle Race use RFID Tags Successfully and Zoomius Inc. is to credit with the innovative timing and scoring technology. Soon the days of traditional race transponders will be gone and replaced with this new race timing and scoring system, that was used successfully at the Reno Fernley circuit motorcycle race weekend earlier in the year.
The RFID timing system was put through the motions in all the practice session, qualifying sessions, endurance and sprint races. This revolutionary technology will give racers access, with the use of a wi-fi enabled computer, to immediate lap times and scoring. This fairly inexpensive innovation will allow race teams to outfit motorcycles and cars at a fraction of the cost of traditional systems and get more accurate information even faster.
