the milwaukee mile

Having the sole distinction of being the oldest operating race venue in the world, the milwaukee mile is one of the most prestigious motor speedways in the U.S. The Milwaukee Mile, also known as the ” The Mile “, has been hosting racing events as far back as the early 1900’s and eight years before the first Indianapolis 500 was ever run.
Since then many of the best drivers in all of motorsports have competed on The Mile, from a 24hr endurance race to Indy Car and Stock Car events names like Barney Oldfield, Rex Mays, Parnelli Jones, A.J. Foyt, Jimmy Clark, the Unsers, the Andrettis, Nigel Mansell and Dale Earnhardt, Jr. help make up the list of past race winners.
They also do something very cool each year at this track and it’s called ” Drive The Mile “. This is where true race fans are allowed, once a year, the chance to drive their own street cars around the mile race course. In addition to the drive a big classic car show is also included in the festivities, with hundreds of car enthusiasts coming out to showcase some of the nicest cars you have ever laid eyes on.
