Shanghai is inspired by a combination of nature and technology with much of the architecture and placements being situated in positions and shapes that represent ancient Chinese characters and symbols important throughout the country’s history.
The Shanghai International Circuit is the premiere motor racing venue, hosting: FIA Formula One, Chinese Grand Prix, V8 Supercars, A1 Grand Prix and Grand Prix of Nations. The circuit is 3.387 miles in length and considering that it started out as swampland, the realization of it now being an international race venue makes the construction even more impressive, not to mention it cost nearly half a billion dollars to build.
