He also believes that the team fully intended to make his father look as bad as possible in order to get him out so he could be replaced by Mika Hakkinen, a young up and comer in Formula One.
“They wanted him to fail” Marco stated and because Mika would drive for a lot less than what his father was getting they simply pushed him out is his belief. One of the ways Andretti believes they were able to do this was by fooling with the electronic response of his fathers race car, causing it to do unusual things that were out of his father control.
