Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America
kyle petty charity ride got its start in 1994 when Kyle and friends road motorcycles from North Carolina to a NASCAR race at Phoenix International Raceway. By the time he and the four friends reached the race they had added 30 riders and this inspired Kyle to create the Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride Across America.
To date, riders have traveled more than 7.2 million miles combined. Over 5,700 motorcycle riders have taken the trip and because of their generosity the total sum of all the charity rides has raised over $10.5 million for chronically ill children. As the son of Nascar legend Richard Petty not only has Kyle followed in his dads foot steps as a driver but has paved his own distinct legacy with the contribution and success of this gracious event.
