Bristol Motor Speedway
In the beginning race fans called it Bristol International Raceway or Bristol Raceway, but today it is simply called bristol motor speedway. The .5 mile oval is one of the most popular short tracks in Nascar and seats 160,000 race fans in a very up close and personal environment compared to the much larger tracks on the race circuit.
Bristol Motor Speedway is nestled within the mountains of Bristol, TN and is built on land that once was used as a dairy farm. BMS was mirrored after the larger 1.5 mile charlotte motor speedway. The entire facility of Bristol ranges 100 acres and can park as many as 12,000 cars on its premises. Bristol Speedway serves host to Nascar Sprint Cup, Nationwide, Craftsman Truck, NHRA, ASA Late Model and USAR Series Events.
